A Message From The East

Wreath and BannersAs the sun sets in the west, so must every Masonic lodge prepare for the end of the calendar year when officers exchange their jewels, brethren prepare for another year’s labor, and the Worshipful Master willfully (sometimes cheerfully) hands the gavel to an new Worshipful Master.  Over the last year, this lodge has accomplished great things.  We have raised 5 Master Masons, conducted a Table Lodge, provided community services like Child ID and blood donations, given sponsorship to local charities such as Young Life, and expanded awareness of the craft throughout the community.  The brethren of this lodge have worked tirelessly to make these things happen and it makes my heart swell with pride to know I can be a part of such an esteemed group of Masons.  Every one of you, whether your contribution was large or small, have played a part in the legacy of this Right Worshipful Lodge and should be deservedly proud of your affiliation with something much larger than ourselves.

This month, we wish to honor those who have been a part of that legacy by recognizing and paying honors to our Past Masters.  The lodge exists today due to the leadership and vision of hundreds of masons over the course of dozens of decades directing the lodge from the east.  It is on this night that we wish to acknowledge those contributions as it deserved.  It is perhaps fitting that we will also be conducting a move-up night where many of next year’s officers will be sitting in their future chairs.  What could be more appropriate than the generation of the future taking time to honor and respect the fast?

Please also join us on Saturday, November 21 at 8am for a free pancake breakfast.  This will likely be our last pancake breakfast of the year since December tends to be a busy and hectic time for many.  I would love to enjoy this time of fellowship one last time before handing the gavel over to our very capable and well-studied Senior Warden for his year in the east.

Thank you all for your contributions, sacrifices, and efforts.  Concordia Benevolencia.

Other Announcements

Stated Communication: The November Stated Communication will be held on Monday, November 9th at 7:30 pm.  Dinner will be served at 6:30pm.  Meal cost is $10 per plate.  Please come and support our OES ladies by purchasing a plate.  This month will be “move up month” for our Senior Warden and next year’s potential officers.  We will also be observing Past Master’s night.

Last FREE Pancake Breakfast of 2015: As the 2015 year begins to wind into the holiday season, we expect that a pancake breakfast may be prohibitive to many people’s schedules in December.  November 21st will be the last Pancake Breakfast of 2015 (unless otherwise announced by the incoming Worshipful Master).  Please make an effort to come out and enjoy a time of fellowship, especially knowing that the number of tasks you can get roped into supporting is growing smaller and smaller!  Those who have been away for some time, we would love to see you in the lodge during this time just to get to know you.  Saturday, November 21st from 8am-10am.  Drop in any time!

New Master Mason Familiarization: We have a cadre of new Master Masons in our midst!  If you were a Master Mason raised in 2015, we would like to invite you to our lodge practices November 16th and November 30th at 7pm to practice opening/closing a lodge and various other standard lodge activities.  This is to help speed your acclimation into lodge procedures and ritual. We look forward to seeing you all there!
