A Message From The East

Wreath and BannersGreetings Brethren,

My year in the east is coming to a close, this is both a sad and joyous occasion for me. We have been busy with degree work, and I really appreciate all the hard work and support the brethren have given me this year. I would also like to thank all the Past Masters, that have helped me with all my questions I have had and last minute called communications, if not for you none of this would have been possible. I will be out of the east, but as always I will continue to support this great fraternity of ours. I look forward to seeing everyone for the oyster dinner, and Please bring your wife, and kids if they like oysters. And to Worshipful George Schneider, Good Luck in the upcoming year, I know it will be great.

Your 2016 Worshipful Master
Tim Lewis.

Kilwinning Crosse Hosts SLOT for District 8

simple-logoThe brethren at Kilwinning Crosse served as hosts for 2016 SLOT training directed by the District Educational Officer (DEO) for District 8, RtWor Jeff St. Onge.  RtWor St. Onge requested that our own WBro Joseph Pack provide the instruction for the morning following the lodge’s monthly pancake breakfast.

Nearly all, if not all, of the lodges in the district were present.  The SLOT presentation was on the methodical duties of each officer followed by a discussion of etiquette and decorum in the lodge.  RtWor St. Onge and WBro Joseph Pack also encouraged participation in the Grand Lodge’s Correspondence Courses to increase individual proficiency in duties as an officer and as a Master Mason.

Please contact Joseph Pack or our lodge if you would like more information on the presentation given.  CLICK HERE for a PDF copy of the slides presented.

Happy Independence Day from Kilwinning Crosse!

Independence DayOn July 4th, 1776, men and masons representing 13 British colonies met in Philadelphia, PA to sign a document that would change the course of history.

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

These men were standing for their homes, their businesses and well-being, their values, and their sense of individual dignity.  There was not assurance that their endeavor would succeed or that they would not all be found by the mighty British Empire and executed at traitors to the crown.  Still, they braved impossible odds to stand for what they believed to be true.  With the divine intervention of the supreme architect of the universe, these rebels would found a great nation, one like the world had never seen before.  It would stand for the same principles that many Masons exhume in their own lives: equality for all, benevolence in authority, and the rule of the people.

On this Independence Day, join the brethren of Kilwinning Crosse in observing the sacrifices and accomplishments of our founding fathers and celebrating independence from oppression and tyranny in the name of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Happy Independence Day.
