Work Begins to Mount Sidney E. King Murals
Saturday, August 22nd, RtWor Wayne Brooks and Wor Ron Childress worked tirelessly to prepare our Sidney E. King murals for mounting. Since one of the murals was painted directly onto the interior wall of a building (seen in the picture, attached), it required a good deal of prep work. 4×4 posts were mounted to the wall/floor to support the weight of the structure and 2×6 planks were mounted on the top and bottom of the painting to box in the entire structure.
At the end of the day, the painting was moved into position for a future crew to lift the item against the wall onto the 4×4 supports. Once the painting is against the wall, drill points can be marked for stabilizers.
As you can tell, this has been a tremendous effort and the work of our brethren can not be under-stated. Thank you to all who have supported this work.
