Greetings Brethren,

We’re in the beginning of February, and this is already shaping up to be quite a busy year.  But first let me run down what you may have missed.

On January 26th, the Grand Master of Masons in Virginia, Most Worshipful Louis Kerford Campbell made his official visit to the 8th Masonic District.  Kilwinning Crosse members showed up in strong numbers.

February 1st was our lodge’s first social of the year.   I plan on making events like this a more regular occurrence over the year.  Not only do they strengthen our fraternal bonds, they are excellent opportunities for spouses to become better acquainted.  If any brother feels inclined to host or plan a social future social event, please contact me.   Our next social will be at my house (124 S. Main Street, Bowling Green) on March 1st at 6pm.

On February 2nd, Rt. Wor. Bro Tom Lewis, Bro. Chuck DeRemer, and I travelled to the Scottish Rite Temple in Richmond for the Division Leadership Conference.   DLCs are a wonderful opportunity for lodge officers to meet their counterparts at the Grand Lodge.   I highly recommend all officers to attend next year.

But the calendar has just begun, and we still have quite a few events filling out the rest of the month. We will be having a Field Day at the lodge on Saturday, February 9th at 9am.  We will be sweeping, cleaning, and fixing our building.  Past members have entrusted us with this building, and it is our duty to maintain what they have given us.

The District Deputy Grand Master for the 8th Masonic District, Right Worshipful Larry Spencer Ball will be making his official visit at our next stated on Monday, February 11th.  Please make a special effort to come out and show your support.

Finally, brethren, there are numerous other ways you can support your lodge outside of the stated meetings.   I’m looking for volunteers to push financial paperwork for a lodge charity fund, drivers willing to pick up our older members, Child ID workers, blood drive workers, and more.  If any of these interest you or if you want to start up a lodge project of your own, contact me by phone or email.

Fraternally,

Andrew G. Coelho, WM
