Brethren,

First of all, I would like to thank you for electing me to serve as Master of this historic Lodge for 2022. It is an honor to serve alongside such a selection of dedicated Masons and I am proud of the team we have in place.

My theme for the year is Resurrection – a phoenix rising. The Covid-19 (and 20 and 21) pandemic has certainly taken our noble craft as one of its victims and caused us to withdraw somewhat from the forefront of life. While the latest “variant” tries to further subdue us, and seems very virulent, it does not seem as deadly as its predecessors. It is my intention to continue to meet on a regular basis, as long as our Grand Master allows, to continue to serve meals previous to our Stated Communications, continue to perform our charitable works and continue to confer dergrees taking Good Men and making them Better!  I believe that with your help, my officers and I can make a real difference both in our community and our Masonic family.

We will continue with the Foot-to-Foot fund and are about to present another 18 pairs of new sneakers to the P.E. department at the Caroline Middle School to keep up the supply. For years, P.E. teachers have kept a bin of used sneakers to give to kids who can’t afford proper shoes.  Well, we’ve been filling that bin with brand new shoes for two years now and we will keep it going!

We continue to look for new opportunities to be of service to our local community so if you know of anything then please let me know either by emailing me at  master@carolinemasons.org  or by phone at (540) 455-3813.

Bowling Green Town Hall will again be the venue for the Grand Master of Vrginia’s visit to the 8th Masonic District this year. The visit will take place on  Saturday, March 12th, at 6:00 PM. I would love to see a strong representation of our Lodge Brothers and your ladies at this event showing our commitment to Virginia Masonry.  Please contact me for tickets which are still only $20 each.

Some of your officers and brethren will be participating in the 2022 Caroline Polar Bear Plunge in February.   We’re raising money for our Lodge Charity Fund.   So if you want to support your Lodge and get a good laugh at them turning blue, please contact either me or the Secretary for more information on how to contribute.

Finally, our next meeting is on Monday, January 10th.  Dinner will commence at 6:30pm with the meeting starting at 7:30pm. It was to have been the Official Visit of Right Worshipful Dennis Berry to our Lodge but that has been rescheduled to occur at our March Stated Communication.

Once again, thank you for entrusting me with this Lodge.

     Fraternally,
     Richard J. Fisher
     Worshipful Master
