A Message from the East
It is an honor to be elected as the Master of such a historically significant and harmonious lodge as Kilwinning-Crosse. The concepts of “heritage” and “harmony” are what I have found special about Kilwinning-Crosse, both as an institution and as an active fraternal organization. Throughout the year, I want to explore ways to emphasize both of these concepts with the brethren and help lay plans for work to preserve the history of our lodge.
Make note of the announcements below, especially the upcoming Master Mason’s degree of Brother Mark Bissoon. Every new Master Mason adds to the heritage of our lodge and should be supported as fervently as anything else in our fraternity. We also have a pancake breakfast planned for $10 at no cost to the brethren. This is open to all members of Kilwinning-Crosse of all degrees. The district is also hosting the Grand Master at County Line Baptist Church on January 17th. As the district’s oldest lodge, it would be a nice show of support to make a good showing.
Thank you all for your support towards our fraternity and our lodge. I look forward to working with you all in the coming year.
Other Announcements
Stated Communication. The January Stated Communication will be held at the Masonic Temple in Bowling Green Va. on Monday, January 12th at 7:30 pm. Dinner will be served at 6:30pm. The cost for the meal is $10 per plate.
Lodge Training and District School. Lodge training is tentatively scheduled for Monday, January 5th (7pm) to prepare for the upcoming Master Mason’s degree. District school will be Monday, January 26th at 7pm. Any interested in carpooling to Fredericksburg for district is invited to meet in the 2-237 parking lot no later than 6:15pm.
January Pancake Breakfast. All brethren are invited to attend a casual pancake breakfast Saturday, January 10th between 8:00am and 9:30am. Cost is entirely FREE and all are welcome to come and go as they please. We would love to see you all there!
Upcoming Master Masons Degree. Please make note of the raising of Brother Mark Bissoon on Monday, January 19th at 7:00pm. Details will be given at the January Stated regarding meals, ritual, and additional practice times.
Grand Master’s Official Visit. The Grand Master of Masons for Virginia will be visiting District 8 on Saturday, January 17th (6pm) at County Line Baptist Church. Cost of each ticket is $25 and attendance is highly encouraged for all members, family, and friends.
Be advised that dues for the 2015 Masonic year have increased from $130 to $140.
