August 2021 Trestle Board
Brethren,
Our Stated Communication is this upcoming Monday, August 9th, at 7:30 PM.
If anyone wants to meet at Roma’s Pizza before the meeting, I’ll be there at 6:00. Starting in September, the Eastern Star will begin offering dinner at the Lodge prior to the stated meetings.
With the dinners coming back in September, it means we need to clean up the Fellowship Hall and kitchen. It’s been sitting empty for over a year. So there’s dust, cobwebs, and all sorts of mysteries waiting for us to find as we open back up. We’ll be discussing the date for a Lodge Cleaning Day at the meeting. However, if you are so inclined, I encourage you to come by the Lodge if you have a few free hours and tackle a part of the cleaning or maintenance independently as well.
Our next practice is next Monday, August 16th at 7:00 PM. We’ll be working on the EA degree. Whether you are an officer, a new member, or an existing member interested in getting involved, you’re invited to come.
We will be voting on a petition for membership at this upcoming meeting. If the vote is successful, I am tentatively scheduling the EA Degree for August 30th at 7:00 PM. Before you ask, Labor Day falls on September 6th this year.
Finally, our membership is still hovering around 80. Out of that, about 15 show up on a regular basis. A well-worn phrase around Masonic circles is “You get from Masonry what you put into it.” I volunteered to go back into the East with the goal of focusing this Lodge’s mission to support you and your personal endeavors in the community – whether or not they fall into the historic definition of “Masonic charity.” But I can’t help you if you don’t show up.
