November 2013 Trestle Board
Greetings Brethren,
First off, congratulations to the officers of our lodge for last month’s successful Move-Up Night. More especially, I would like to applaud Bro. Chuck DeRemer for his exemplary performance in the East.
On November 19th, the lodge hosted a model train show and Child ID program for the Bowling Green Harvest Festival. Even in a rainy day, we produced 44 Child ID packages for our local families. I would like to thank the following members for their help: Bro. Joe Pack, Wor. Richard Corker, Bro. Tim Lewis, Wor. Ron Childress, Rt. Wor. Tom Lewis, Wor. Ron Walters, Bro. Steve Forcum, and Bro. Lee Harris.
Last Saturday, we ran another Child ID booth at The Carmel School’s Fall Festival and produced another 21 Child ID packages. Bro. Tim Lewis took the reins on this project and did an excellent job. Wor. Tom Lewis, Wor. Richard Corker, and Bro. Joe Pack helped Bro. Tim make this a resounding success.
While the holidays approach and our personal calendars begin to fill, please keep in mind that we have two Entered Apprentices who will soon be ready for their next step. So please keep an eye out for an upcoming Fellowcraft Degree.
A quick update on the lodge budget. As you know, we had to replace the air conditioner at the lodge, wiping out our building fund and a good deal of our operating account. A few of our members have generously donated to help make up this loss, but we are still thousands of dollars short of our goal. If you haven’t already done so, please consider making a one-time donation to help the lodge recoup our losses.
Fraternally,
Andrew G. Coelho, WM
